Re: Orc Armour?

I went through this process a couple years ago: I can't recall what the source material I found was, but my conclusion was that mostly generic points with a few bodkins was the sensible route: http://middleearthrangers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3187&start=15#p40361 Since that post I sto...

Re: Medieval Arrowheads and their Uses - Tod's Stuff

I saw that!

The trick with the quills was cool! I've been meaning to experiment with an arrow spoon for ages - but how cool there's an improvised solution for those nasty barbs!

That is amazing. Goodness, you've come so very far! I remember those early pictures to, and here I think you look more real than anything WETA's ever put together. Truly truly inspirational. Regarding name - hunh! I'd never known that about "Gregory" - very cool. A couple other r...

Re: favor request: anyone in the UK?

Thanks Iodo!

I've tried messaging you, and gotten the error "Some users couldn’t be added as they have disabled private message receipt."

Perhaps it's a usergroup permission?

favor request: anyone in the UK?

I'd like to make an order from Daegrad in the next few weeks, but he doesn't ship to the US.

Is anyone in the UK willing to receive a package from him and mail it on to me in the US?
I'll cover the post here of course - and happily add a little something extra to the order for your trouble. :)

... ... WOWWOWOWOWOW! That looks *awesome* I love your changes - especially those little tabs keeping the lid on. I'm kicking myself not having thought of that now. :) I'm curious to hear how the integral bail works out - does it rotate all the way around the pot to take up less space? Or do you car...

Re: In breathless Anticipation

WOW! Very cool! I remember AAAAAGES ago way pre-internet seeing an article on those in I think it was a friend's Scientific American magazine. It made them sound like magic! How very cool! Will you need to do something special to take care of it in this climate? Can't wait to hear more about your ex...

How sweet and tiny! I see a stake, so I assume you're growing them.

I can't tell from the picture - is it maple?

Also watch this before you start cutting.

There's more going on in that neck hole than it looks at first glance:

Re: A bit of Shire goodness

MMMMmmm. :) If one wanted to stick with old-world birds, one could use goose: it's not exactly unlike turkey, but it's darker yet: sort of a weird combination of turkey, beef, and organ meat. I love it, but I grant it's an acquired taste. I wonder what to pair it with on the sweet side? Something ta...

(nice adaptation to the hood by the way: I've done something similar at the neck, and it's amazing what a dif it makes. :) )
