Re: Edge of the Wild Summer 2019 now available!

Enjoyed as always :P

I was interested to find out that Tolkien never said hobbits have larger than average feet, I guess I was so sure of the stereotype that I must have read it in myself every time I've read the books

Re: Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??

As to whether it would be a good fit for dwarvish impression, I think it's fine, especially following Nemo's theory about craftsmanship. If you want to justify it, I have a theory myself that Dale, located on the River Running and kind of the highest-tech settlement in the region, would have had a ...

Re: Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??

Well, the houndstooth weave is certainly old enough to be pre-medieval: The oldest known occurrence of houndstooth is the Gerum Cloak[3], a garment uncovered in a Swedish peat bog, dated to between 360 and 100 BC.[4] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houndstooth#Design_and_history https://historiska.se...

Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??

I've just been to my local fabric store, they had this cheep on clear out: https://i.imgur.com/JCJgb0v.jpg I liked it so I bought it but I can't quite decide. It's 100% wool, about a third as thick as my boiled wool cloak and a very tight weave. The pattern is woven rather than printed. The color ha...

Re: Nemo's Dwarf Kit

That's an amazing kit, I really like your interpretation of the reference of a pack hook from The Hobbit, I puzzled over that for quite a while and ended up deciding that it might mean a hook on the end of a burden strap of some kind. The frame pack has a really dwarven feel to it, the only thing st...

Re: Some new stuff

Thank you :P Very cool! I assume you made all those hangers for your goodies as well? It looks awesome! Do you think you might ever "Dwarf-ify" your sword as well? Or are you leaving it as is? Yep, I made the hangers, although there wasn't much to the sword one: note the angular profile fo...

Re: Some new stuff

I think this is my record for the most amount of time to get around to something  Remember that cheep war-hammer from last years medieval fair :?: Here's the finished item: https://i.imgur.com/UlwbCqn.jpg and it looks so much better in my collection than the half-finished version that's bee...

Re: The Sword Beneath the Cloak (Odigan work)

Nice :P I agree totally with Greg, It fit's what I imagined from the book exactly and getting rid of the polished shiny guard and pommel works so well, no glint to give away your position in the trees

Odigan's made your design amazing
