Re: On the subject of blankets and shelters

cool, thanks for the info, the only thing I'm likely to do is one night trips, so I'm guessing I should be able to keep stuff dry by rolling it inside a tarp, and building a shelter, for one night I probably won't have an issue

Re: On the subject of blankets and shelters

Hunh - that would seem to be a pretty significant issue. How do people deal with that - are they just more popular outdoors in arid climates? Only used in shelters? Something else? I'm influenced by modern camping but I would have thought a blanket shouldn't get wet, if it were rolled up inside a b...

Re: Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??

i sure wish i could find it from a local source but that has yet to happen... I know the feeling, I can get some wool's from a local upholstery warehouse (the place doesn't look anything like it would sell that kind of thing but they stock a little bit, have you looked to see if there's anything si...

Re: Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??

Dr green to scarlet red... Cant wait to get to make a good clothes like this! Thanks so much :P This is a really simple proj...

Thanks :P and I agree, It just seemed so simple that I couldn't imagine no one had done it

Re: Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??

Thank you both :P How warm is it? The fabric is woven and partially felted so it's quite thick and wind resistant, It's about twice as warm as the black wool broadcloth tunic i'm wearing with it, and a bit cooler than the grey hood made from the thick boiled wool I used for my cloak, it's good winte...

Re: Dúnedain Hats?

I mostly wear a hood and it honestly took me over a year to come up with a hood pattern that didn't do any of the annoying things hoods do, only it's quite loose so it does get cold in the winter, at the moment my solution is to have a piece of thin wool broad cloth to wear like a pirate bandana un...
